Self Portrait vs the Selfie

What is a selfie?

A selfie is a picture that you take by yourself on your phone or camera. you get to express more when taking selfies and exaggerate your emotions more because you can respond on your own rather than a professional taking the pictures and them telling you what to do or what would look good.
What is a self portrait?

A self portrait is i feel something more serious. You have to focus on what would look good and lighting and background. I feel that you have to plan more with self portraits rather than selfies you can just snap a quick picture and have fun.
Is there a difference? If so, what?

There is a difference. You don't always need a professional but you can for self portraits. You take more time with them and you take so many to get the right one. I feel like they can be the same too though because you can spend a lot of time getting the right selfie.
What style do you prefer?

I like selfies because you can express yourself more and they are fun to take. Also you can take really funny and stupid pointless pictures.
Is one more valuable/important than the other? Why?

I don't think one of them i more valuable. It depends on the person and what the person likes.

Phobia Project

A. A phobia can be either a fear or a discomfort to someone. They can have multiple phobias and they can have anxiety attacks sometimes and different people have different phobias and some people have it worse than others.

B.Epistemophobia- Fear of knowledge

  Gerascophobia- Fear of growing old

  Pediophobia- Fear of dolls

  Pharmacophobia- Fear of drugs

  Telephonophobia- Fear of telephones

  Hypsiphobia- Fear of height

C. I think some cool ideas is to have a dark room because a lot of people are afraid of the dark they can have a dark room and maybe be hiding a flashlight or have a night light in their room to make the room a little lighter.
Also there are a lot of people who are afraid of dolls, and there are doll shops and then take pictures on how they react to the dolls. But i would like to get creepy dolls that are missing hair or an eye to make it more creepy.
it is also really cold and Psychrophobia is the fear of being cold so that would be really interesting to take pictures of.

D. You can use special lighting and have filters on the photo you can also just focus on their face instead of everything around them so you really capture their emotions and reactions. but i will focus on lighting and probably getting what they are seeing in the and their emotions and reactions in the photo so you can see why they are scared or something.

I chose this photo because it shows that people cared when he died. Also he was on elf my big inspirations while i boxed and i looked up to him when i thought i couldn't do anything. He was very special for me and it made me and my whole family sad when he died.














I  really like this picture because it shows culture with the face painting or masks they have on and the clothes they are wearing. Also how everything around them is green and pretty. It is a little scary but i think it makes you think.

I chose this picture because this was in the middle of the night and the man was murdered. Also i like how there is only light on the person and dark every where else.


1. What was the best song of 2016?

My favorite song was either Bad and Boujee (feat. Lil Uzi Vert) or Rae Sremmurd - Swang. I like these songs the best because they bring back good memories when i hang out with my friends and when we stayed up late just hanging out and walking around. We would listen to those songs in the car when our friend would drive us places and we would go really fast in his car. We still listen to those songs and we all love them.

2. What was the best movie of 2016?

My favorite movie was Nerve because I feel like something like that could happen in the future. But the movie had a really good sound track and i feel like i could relate to that movie. I watched it eight my best friend and we loved the movie so much. I watched probably 3 more times when it came out on Red Box.

3. What was the most important news story of the year?

I think the most important news story that happened in 2016 was the Zika virus. I think it was really important because that it effects other people and babies. And my mom told me about it so i remembered it i thought it was a really important topic.

4. Who was the most important person of 2016 in your opinion?

I think the most important person of 2016 was President Obama. I think this because he has done so much for this country and feel like when he left, our country was just going to go downhill. But he has been a big inspiration for everyone and so many people to be the better person and i think he has done really amazing things to this country.

5. What was the biggest sports OR entertainment story OR sports/entertainment person of 2016?

I think the biggest sport thing that happened was when the Cubs won the world series. I have been voting for them when they get in the finals and it has made my family and I kinda  mad when they don't win because we know how hard they have worked for 109 years and they finally won. They have wanted this for so long and i was super happy when they won.

1. Tell me what is the one thing that happened on your holiday that you will remember? It can be a trip, a family visit, a present, something fun.

something that i will remember that i got over the break was 10  pairs of socks.

2. What are your resolutions for the 2017 year?
To make good grades and exercise more.

I am looking forward to maybe getting to move to Cali.
