EXTRA CREDIT

1. Explain what happened to the man that was killed by the subway and how the photographer was able to take the photo.
The man got pushed onto the tracks un able to get himself up in time before the train came. I think the photographer got the picture when he realized there was nothing he can do the help the man and so he took the picture.

2. Why did the photographer say he took the photo?
I didn't really see a reason why he took the photo but i think he took it because these types of things happen a lot in NYC.

3. Do you think the photographer should have taken the photo?
I din't think he should have because it is really sad and scary to think about so seeing someone about to get killed is not really what people want to see.

4. Do you think the photographer did the best thing he could have done in this situation? Why or why not?
I think he could have tried to pull themas up instead of worrying about the photo and called for help of other people.

5. Do you agree or disagree with the decision to run the photo on the front page of the New York Post? Explain why or why not.
I think was not a good idea because it doesn't really give respect to the man who died. I think it would have been better to put a smaller hot or no picture at all.

6. What is more important to a photojournalist, capturing images of life as it happens or stopping bad things from happening? Why or why not?
I think to them it is more important to capture things but i don't think its ok when someones life is in danger and there is something you can do about it.

7. Do you think it is ever ethically acceptable for a photographer to involve himself/herself in a situation that he or she photographs? Explain why or why not.
I think if someone is about to die they should try to do something about it rather than just standing there taking pictures.

8. Should photojournalists always avoid influencing events as they happen? Explain your answer.
No they should focus getting pictures if that is their job.

9. After reading the responses from the professional photographers, what stands out as the most appropriate response for a photographer to this situation.
That he tried and that he couldn't do anything about it.

Austin Photographer

This picture has lines and a blurred background so it gives lots of color.
This is rule of thirds and also maybe balance because the the shadows.
This picture has lines and rule of thirds because the man is on the side and the lines from the rails.

This picture has leading lines because the cement edge is leading your eye to the person.

I like these pictures because they are of sports and different things. Also they have different themes like water, snow and more. They have a lot of sport pictures and they are all in Austin.

The website is really organized and I really like the layout because it is simple but it has some really cool things to look at.I feel like it would be hard to capture some of the pictures that the photographer because a lot of the pictures are action pictures and they can be hard to get sometimes.

If i was allowed to get a picture like the one the person is taking, I would like to get on because they look so cool and fun. Also you would get to learn about different things like BMX or dirt biking.
